> Free baby name tool that does three things no other site combines: side-by-side popularity comparison across the UK, US and Australia from official government registries; phonetic-similarity suggestions (names that genuinely sound alike, not just letter-matches); and a private partner-matching game where two people independently rank a shortlist before results are revealed.

Independent project. Data comes directly from the UK Office for National Statistics, the US Social Security Administration, and Australian state registries — refreshed annually. Search, cross-country comparison, similar-name suggestions, and per-name pages are free. Optional paid extras: a one-page data-backed report on a single name (£3/$3) and the partner-matching game (£5/$5).

## What the site does

- **Cross-country popularity comparison**: Look up any name and see its current rank in the UK, US and Australia in a single view, with year-on-year history. The three official sources (ONS, SSA, state registries) are aggregated so users don't have to visit them separately.
- **Phonetic-similarity suggestions**: For any name, surfaces alternatives that genuinely sound similar via phonetic-key matching, not names that just share letters.
- **Partner matching**: A private game where two people independently rank the same shortlist and only see the results after both finish — designed for couples who can't agree.
- **Per-name pages**: Every name in the dataset has its own page at `/name/<slug>` with rank, historical chart, phonetically similar names, and FAQs.

- Australia: Aggregated from individual state registry releases. ~287 AU-only names beyond the UK + US sets.
